I was pleased to discover www.childrensbooksonline.org, a website offering an online library of illustrated antique books through The Rosetta Project. The website was started in 1996 by a single man with a handful of books and has now grown to a large, volunteer-driven online library that publishes new books and translations every week.

Antique books have so much to offer our children and The Rosetta Project seeks to keep this timeless literature alive through creative illustrations and competent translations. The website is funded through The John and Frances Beck Foundation and donations from website viewers who appreciate antique books and this incredible online resource where you can find them.

The childrensbooksonline.com website features a super index as well as a search engine so visitors can find any antique book they are looking for. Through links, viewers can purchase all types of books, including multi media books and books with audio. Antique books are available on every reading level include pre-reader, early readers, intermediate readers, advanced readers, adult readers and books in multiple languages.

You can even contribute your own illustrated book to The Rosetta Project by contacting the Director of Acquisitions. All the images, sound and text presented by childrensbooksonline.org is protected by the Electronic Theft Act of 1997.

You and your children will appreciate visiting www.childrensbooksonline.org and checking out all the beautifully-illustrated, classic books available.
