The critical blog entries are referred to as “rants” and are written about current movies, DVDs, television and news. The entries themselves progress as rants, in no particular order other than the latest occurrences of the day. This makes the website rather difficult to navigate although there is a search option to attempt to try to find what you are looking for.

The tone of the blog entries is honest and straight-forward, which makes them appealing to read. I appreciated the descriptive tone of the writing that got right to the point about the movie, show or news item being reviewed. While the critical reviews had a bold tone, they are not vulgar or overstated. For the latest news, there are featured rants to click on along the right side of the blog to find out what’s happening now in the media.

My greatest complaint about the Critics Rant is the rather ranting style of the blog narratives, which is clearly part of the premise of the site. If you don’t mind the rather disorganized nature of the blog entries, the content about entertainment is interesting and funny.
