Do you remember those little books you used to read as a child that you could flip the pages and animations would come to life? This concept has been reinvented in a major way by FlipClips, a website that allows you to download video and use it to create your own flip books to bring it to life.

Each flip book is individually crafted to feature your special digital video. Flip books are available in three different sizes and are printed on acid and lignin—free heavy bond digital paper to bring your videos to life in a quality paperback format. The design team at FlipClips is also available to design custom covers for your flip books.

The various flip book sizes are used for different purposes. The smallest flip book is ideal for short animation or video of 15 seconds that was recorded on your digital camera or camera phone. The middle size or “greeting card” flip book is a personalized greeting card that can feature 10 seconds of digital video. The largest size flip book is called the “storybook” and can showcase 30 seconds of high resolution DV or DVD video. The storybook size flip book may be used for advertisements, detailed animations or to show clips from movies.

I loved the cartoon flip books I used to read as a child and was always amazed at how flipping the pages brought them to life. The only story that could possibly be better is one I filmed myself and recorded permanently in a flip book at FlipClips.
