Unlimited frugality tips with a touch of humor await you at Frugal Upstate. Clearly committed to her sense of frugality, the Frugal Upstate blog is hosted at Google’s blog spot and was featured in Parents Magazine in 2007.

The creator of Frugal Upstate is a 35 year old Army veteran named Jenn who lives in upstate New York and is now a wife, mother (her children are a 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy) and animated blogger about everything budget conscious. Jenn discovered frugality during her first pregnancy and has really taken the ball and run with it at Frugal Upstate by showcasing “frugality as a conscious way of life”.

Useful links to articles and resources at Frugal Upstate include frugal fun stuff such as free games for kids online, frugal skills such as mending and sewing and frugal gifts such as homemade cards, birthday decorating on a dime and the infamous gift that keeps giving, Amish Friendship Bread. Jenn’s blog entries are organized by interesting categories such as tips, crafts, garden, recipe, organize, kids and even drivel/rant.

I appreciated the common sense advice and multitude of relevant links provided at Frugal Upstate. Jenn’s entries are easy to read and conversational so they provide essential knowledge without being bossy. In fact, I strongly believe in a few of her practical suggestions such as using a Boppy for breastfeeding and making lunch for your children instead of having them buy it at school.
